My Story

Nkosinathi Nkosi is a seasoned South African film editor, animator, and visual storyteller with over 15 years of experience in film, television, music videos, documentaries, and digital media. Based in Johannesburg, he is known for his versatility, technical precision, and strong creative vision within South Africa’s competitive film and entertainment industry.

He began his career as a cameraman and editor before expanding into graphic design, animation, and content production. His journey into filmmaking started through hands-on experimentation, filming and editing on a BlackBerry 9320, which laid a strong foundation for his deep understanding of the full production process — from concept development to final post-production delivery.

Coming from a musical background, Nkosinathi brings rhythm, emotion, and storytelling sensitivity into his editing style. His creative philosophy is guided by his personal motto: “Evolve, or you will perish.” This mindset drives his commitment to staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovative editing techniques.

He has worked on both local and international productions, including Netflix’s Queen Sono, and has collaborated with creatives, brands, and media platforms in South Africa and the United States. His experience spans editing, visual effects, production management, and creative direction, enabling him to deliver content that is both technically refined and emotionally engaging.
